Dwight's Infamous Car List

I've been driving since 1982.  Since that time, I've owned a few cars <g>, most of which were bought for under $1000.  The full list has 60 cars on it, but I've condensed it here by removing the non-running 'parts cars' as I don't think they really count.  You can see photos of some of them on the history page. Listed in order of appearance with purchase prices:

1971 Jeep Commando C-101 hardtop, metallic bean green of course $1295
1970 Fiat 124 spider $350 rusted away
1973 Fiat 124 coupe $1695 floors rusted out
1978 Ford Fiesta 'decor' $1695 totalled by an idiot in a Granada
1970 Fiat 124 spider (the one I restored and sold after 23 years of ownership) $450

1972 Fiat 850 spider (trade) fun car until it systematically fell apart in a week
1972 Ford Capri 2.6 $250 headers, dual cherry bombs = big noise and smoky burn outs
1966 Ford Falcon 2 dr $50 replaced a fouled plug and sold it for $300
1978 Ford Fiesta 'S' with XR2 engine, lowered suspension $1100
1981 Ford Mustang $2500 4 cyl 5 speed, horrible car
1966 Chevy C-20 pickup $250  never buy a farm truck!
1971 Fiat 124 spider $150
1976 Fiat 128 wagon $35  junked it; never got the title
1972 Fiat 124 Spider $285
1978 Ford Fiesta 'S' $65 aka 'The Refridgerator', my favorite car of all time
??   VW powered dune buggy $400
1972 Fiat 850 spider FREE (no keys) owned it for four days
1971 VW Baja Bug $100 no engine
1971 VW Bug $15 (another good story, I sold it a few weeks later for $65)
1965 Ford F-100 pickup $200 ugly but nice, a year later sold it for $350
1967 Fiat Dino Coupe 2.0 $4800 a dream never realized, had to trade it for another car to get rid of it
1967 Pontiac LeMans hardtop $250 restored and sold
1986 Honda CRX Si $5950 welcome to the 80's!
1972 Fiat 124 Coupe $200  sold it only because I needed the space
1975 Fiat 124 Coupe FREE was given to me because the owner had no space for it, floors rusted
1978 Fiat X1/9 $75 sold to be a race car
1960 Fiat-OSCA cabriolet $1000 doubled my money in two months to help buy our first house
1986 Audi Coupe GT $3500 owned it for 12 years...a great car
1984 Subaru GL 4x4 hatchback $400 20k miles in less than a year as my 'company' car, sold for $800
1982 Audi Coupe GT $1000 bought & sold for the same price, only wanted the Schrick cam
1992 Plymouth Sundance America $600 was a theft recovery I fixed and sold
1965 Buick Skylark convertible $traded the Dino for it, sold for $3500 and licked my wounds
1984 Nissan 4x4 pickup $400 bought wrecked, fixed, painted and sold for $3200
1990 Ford Ranger pickup $2200 not what I hoped it would be
1987 Mazda 323 wagon $300 with bad motor, fixed and sold
1988 Mazda 323 hatchback $78.77 bought on eBay on a whim, bad clutch, cost more than the car to get it home, dead cylinder, was lucky to get $100 for it from some dumb kid
1965 Ford F100 $2600 tow vehicle and fun project for cruise nights
1979 Austin Mini 850 $5500 proving all those people who said I couldn't buy a nice one for this little wrong



Scott's not-so-infamous car list

He'll never catch up, but here's his attempts thus far at automotive notoriety:

1981 Mercury Lynx handed down from the parents
1981 Jeep CJ-7 no rust, the only good thing about it
1983 Honda Civic 'S' purchased from Dad after he let the timing belt go
1986 Hyundai Excel GLS, nice car for the first hour. Was stolen and stripped
1991 Mazda Miata do yourself a favor and drive one
1981 VW Rabbit the beginning of a wonderful relationship with Wolfsburg products
1986 VW Jetta great car, wrecked after over 200,000 miles
1972 BMW 2002 restoration project, bought for $1000, sold for $6500, still think I lost money
1986 VW Golf  beater, should have had a big 'S' on the hood for SuperGolf, died after 200,000+
1987 VW Golf GTI 16v (wrecked), paid $300 for it, drove it two blocks and stripped it
1988 Mazda 323 GTX sold due to lack of time to complete, thanks to the next item
1896 2700 sq ft Queen Anne Victorian home, car activity diminished
Part owner two GRM Challenge cars including Ford V8 powered Miata
2005 4 bay garage that is nearly the size of the house above
2004 Mazda Protege 5, a car he said he wouldn't modify but has springs, struts, wheels, exhaust...
